Here’s a nice perk if you happen to work for Apple: apparently you’ll be able to save some serious dough on the Apple Watch if you’re an employee. That’s according to a memo that Apple CEO Tim Cook apparently sent out to employees recently.
“Congratulations to everyone who has worked so hard for years to help this product reach our customers,” Cook said in the letter to employees obtained by9to5Mac, revealing that each will be able to purchase either an aluminum sport option or standard stainless steel model for half off of the retail price that consumers will pay. That means employees will be able to purchase an Apple Watch for as little as $175, at least considering the entry-level price is $350 for consumers.
Cook also said that more than 1,000 applications have been submitted for the Apple Watch, which means there will be plenty of content to download when it launches on April 24. Employees have 90 days after pre-orders kick off on April 10 to take advantage of the savings, so mark your calendars now.
