Samsung previously said its new mobile payments service will be available sometime this summer. Now it looks like Samsung Pay could finally roll out in September for the U.S. and Korea alongside a new smartwatch with mobile payment capabilities.
According to WhowiredKorea, the Galaxy-maker talked about a new smartwatch during an earnings call earlier this week, and it is expected to work with Samsung Pay, possibly in a similar fashion to how the Apple Watch works with Apple Pay. “The compatibility option with the smart watch will only be disclosed during the launch,” said Samsung’s managing director Park Jin-young
SamMobile tapped its trusted sources, who revealed that Samsung Pay is slated to get an initial launch in September. We may see the company unveil a new smartwatch at the same time, potentially during the annual IFA tech expo in Berlin where we’re also expecting the Galaxy Note 5 to make its debut.
